What I Loved about being a Mom this week

(Every week I try to reflect on some of the small things that made me happy as a Mom that week. It's a great way for me to start the new week with love and gratitude.)

We have had a super busy June leading up to us leaving on vacation. I should be back in a week or so with lots of fun pictures and a 4th of July craft or two.  :)

1. How there is always room in the shopping cart for a friend.

2. How he still loves to fall asleep in Mommy's bed.

3. Fun pool party play dates.

4. How she doesn't mind giving Andy a lift around the house.

5. Sleepy baby girl while grocery shopping.

6. Watching her ride around on this old Radio Flyer throughout an an Antique Store brought a big smile to my face. (Camera phone in dark stores with children moving quickly = terrible pictures!)

7. How she loves Grandma's cat so much that she decided to share her breakfast protein shake with her.  ;)  (I was just trying to get a picture of her sitting down by the cat, but caught this moment instead. haha)

8. Watching them have the time of their life jumping on Grandma and Papa Pete's trampoline with Daddy.

9. A good reminder that accidents happen....and it's best to stay calm and move forward. My boys dropped this tote of Lego's THREE times while trying to carry into Grandma's house. Apparently they didn't have the lid on right. Incidents like these make me remember that patience is a virtue!

Did you make any good memories this week?

Slimy "Super" Pop and Shirt Cards (Father's Day Gifts)

So I had this genius idea to make individual lunch sack scrapbooks for each kid to give to my husband for Father's Day. I am about 50% finished with all of them, and I realized with everything else I had going on this week there was just no way I was going to get them done.  Boo! So me and the kids put our heads together and came up with a different quick and easy gift for him the other day.

My husband's favorite treat is gummy worms. He could eat more gummy worms in a day than he would ever care to admit to. I had an empty soda bottle laying around the house so just like we did with our Teacher Appreciation Gift, we filled it full of Daddy's favorite thing.

After talking for what seemed like an eternity of what we were going to name it, we ultimately decided on Slimy "Super" Pop. It all came together quickly and I know my husband will enjoy the fun treats on his long 12-hour shifts for the next month (or days LOL).

View from the back:
(I never cover the entire bottle with the label because I like to be
able to see all the goodies from the back view.)

I recently received a new calling at my church in the Primary. It is the most time consuming job at church I have EVER had....Thus, the lack of crafts on the blog lately.  :(

I happened to be in charge of Father's Day Sharing Time this week so I've been spending my free time this week making 85 of these darling shirt cards I've seen all over Pinterest. Yep, you heard me, EIGHTY-FIVE of them. I know....I'm a little over ambitious and crazy!  :)

I left the ties white on purpose because I decided it would be fun to let the kids use crayons to design the tie on the front of the card for their Dad. I found this cute little poem somewhere online (sorry no source!) and glued it to the inside.

I am excited with how they turned out and hopefully the Daddy's will appreciate them tomorrow.

Happy Crafting!!

LulaClips Review & Giveaway

This Giveaway is now closed.
Congratulations to Comment #6, Lauren, and Comment #9, Britney, who are the winners of the LulaClips!

Loading three kids into the car can sometimes feel like I just ran a mile. Between the bickering and whining from my older boys and the constant battle of Lila not wanting to be buckled into her car seat and struggling with her straps, I always wish I had an extra set of hands or two...or three! Haha!

These LulaClips are the perfect solution to helping me win the battle of getting Lila buckled into her car seat. I know what you are thinking....How could these two little hands possibly solve a problem?? To be honest, I was a critic at first too, but after using them, they are seriously FABULOUS!
You simply attach the Lulaclips to the fabric of the car seat (as shown in the picture above) using the child proof locking mechanism, and the metal piece of the strap sticks right to the magnetic clip. The clips hold the straps open while you get your child into the car seat, so now you won't have to dig for straps underneath your child. I can't tell you what a blessing this has been for me, since I am usually trying to hold Lila down from getting out while I am searching for straps.

No more waking up baby when trying to get them in or out of a car seat either, and no more tangled crazy straps! I love these things! The best part is they work on all car seats and can even be used in strollers.

Ant Hill Toast

It is very possible that I consume WAY TOO much Peanut Butter. When I was pregnant with Luke all I ever wanted to eat was Peanut Butter toast. I pretty much inhaled it every meal! I have loved it my whole life and have even gone so far as to carry insane amounts of it in my food storage in the fear that there may be a time in my life that there is a shortage or we can't afford it. Peanut Butter pretty much should be my middle name.  Hahaha! Anyways, when I thought about making an ant snack for my kids the other day, Peanut Butter toast instantly came to mind.

This was so simple to make and my kids loved it!

1. Spread peanut butter and honey onto a slice of toast.

2. Put one graham cracker in a sandwich baggy and have your child smash it up.

3. Pour the graham cracker crumbs onto the toast, stacking up one side to form the ant hill.

4. Poke a small hole in your ant hill at the top and add black or red sprinkles on the hill and around the toast for ants. (I think red ants would have been super cool, but all I had was the black sprinkles)

A little messy to eat but WAAYYYYYY FUN!! :)

You could also use Nutella instead of Peanut Butter or
chocolate graham crackers with red sprinkles.
 Mmmmmm!!

Happy Eating!!

What I Loved about being a Mom this week

(Every Sunday I try to reflect on some of the small things that made me happy as a Mom that week. It's a great way for me to start the new week with love and gratitude.)

Don't worry....I haven't forgotten about crafts. We started Summer in full swing this past week, already crossing lots off our summer bucket list. It was a good week!

1. Lounging at the foot of my bed in monkey and dinosaur hooded blankets.

2.  Trips down the slide together...The cutest thing I ever did see!!  :)

3. Her new love for all things "baby". She fell in love with this one at the thrift store so I bought it for her. She has given her two baths, tried to feed her from her sippy cup and with goldfish crackers, and has undressed her and wiped her bum with wipes. It is too cute!

4. How he is adorable even when he is sulking!

5. A picture perfect moment while playing in Nana Holly's backyard.

6. Watching Uncle Sol play on the trampoline with my kids and knowing my kids have been blessed with the best Aunts and Uncles in the Universe.  :)

7. A successful early morning fishing trip.

8. How she likes to go fishing in style.
